A very delicious QF match: Federer vs Murray
It is a very happy day for me as a huge Roger Federer fan. I
love the other guys but when it comes to Roger, my heart is always with him.
Today to be honest, i did it not give a Roger so much chance against Murray. It
is obvious that Federer is improving himself as we saw against Tsonga. He came
to the net 41 times and got 34 winner in that match. Yes we all saw that his
backhands are better now, he is serving better now. But these 3 guys- i
mean- Rafa- Novak and Andy are another
story. For almost a 2 years RF can not beat them. These players carry the game another level.
Today Roger Federer started the match as he did against Tsonga.
Came to the net many times and had winners but we saw that it is not that easy
to get this points against Murray. He has to send better shots that he did
Tsonga. Because Andy could give answer to that balls, he is a great returner.
But we didn’t see much that he could get point from returns. Everybody is talking that Andy had a surgery
from his back not so long ago. As he is ok now it is not easy to play in high
level and i was curious about him. First two sets Federer was very good in his
service games, his backhands much better and he was aggresive. On the other
hand Andy was not that good, maybe i can say that Roger did not let him play.
Federer found breakpoints and used them, took the first two sets 6-3, 6-4. In the 3rd set, Andy was better at his shots
and service game but again Roger did break his service and serving for the
match 5-4. In
his service game he made foolish mistakes and literally gave Andy this game as
a present. In the tie-break he again had 2 match points, he could not take them
and lost the 3.set 6-7 to Andy Murray.
I was so mad and shut down the TV! I
had seen this before, i got really angry and thought that Roger has lost the
match already. After 20 minutes, i couldn’t help myself and open it again. It
was 3-2 and Roger leading. I calmed down and started to watch again, what i see
in this match that Roger’s legs are getting quicker again, he can change his
foots and takes the ball to his forehand side easily, also he improved his
bakchands, in the 3.set it was really so exciting and he could manage to take
it 6-4. Roger Federer defeat Andy Murray 6-3, 6-4, 6-7, 6-3 in 4 sets that he lost to him last year here in Melbourne in the semifinal. I can say that Stefan Edberg had a good impact on him. Although he
couldn’t use his chances under pressure in the 3rd set many times, he could finally
manage to hold his game at the same level and did not let his opponent to take
it from his hands. It is not about only techical or pyhsical thing but also
mostly mental. I am so happy today. Match statistics tell us that, RF came to
net 66 times and got 49 points. He made 42 unforced errors but 54 winners. He
got point from his first services around %72. This is a good picture that he
can be better in a few months time. I dont think that this will be enough to beat
Rafa Nadal in the semifinal now. Because Roger Federer had very though times against
him and could not figure out how to stop him even when he was in his best
shape. Rafa playing different style that he can beat Roger Federer easily. So
for my opinion Rafa will win the semifinal but i love to see that Roger will
take the match and get the crown this year!
Other semifinal match is between Berchy and Wawrinka tomorrow. That
would be a great surprise that Federer and Wawrinka would be on the final match
on Sunday!
