Sony Open Champion: Serena Williams

I love Serena Williams, i really do. I think she contributes a lot to women tennis, she makes her rivals better. Tonight i have just watched a great example of her good work.

In Miami Sony Open Tennis tournament final match was between Serena Williams(1) and Li Na(2). My favourite for the match was Serena Williams and she won it for the 7th times here and also with this win she got her 59th career title tonight.

I like Li Na , i like her style and her personality. I think she is a great player and she is among one of players that can beat Serena W. in Wta.

Li Na made a very good start tonight, she preferred to stay behind the baseline, sent deep balls to the corners and broke Serena very early in the set and caught 4-1 in the first set. On the other hand Serena was no good at her first serves, was no good at returns  and her mood was a bit slow. I always think that if she is in the mood, it is very hard to beat her. When Li Na was 5-2 up in the first set, Serena’s game changed like there was a magic stick touched her and after she saved a set point, she broke Li Na’s service game and earned 6 games in the row and took the first set 7-5! Like she did the same comeback while she was playing against Sharapova semi-final match, today she did a great job too.

After losing the first set very dramatically, i can say that Li Na kept her dicipline and motivation in a good level that i appreciate a lot. It was too important to make a good start in the second set which she could do till the 3rd game. That was the key point of the set and the match when Serena W. broke her opponent’s service game in 2-1, Serena  dominated the set, found her pace and after that point she was unstoppable. She took the set 6-1 , match 7-5,6-1 and and got her 7th title in Miami. This match is just another example to show us that Serena Williams is a great player.

Tomorrow Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic will face with each other for the final match in Sony Open. For both players did not play semi-final matches as their rivals withdrawn from the tournament because of health problems. This is a  very strange situation but of course it is great to see these players in the final. I love both of guys but neverthless i want Rafa win the match tomorrow.
